A construction company has completed one segment of the sound barrier on the 183-A toll road in Northwest Austin.
Now they say the sound wall is scheduled to be finished by April 30.
The toll road opened up earlier this month, but many people living in the Forest Oaks neighborhood in Cedar Park say they have dealt with noise from the site for several months previous.
They say they were promised a sound wall would be in place when the toll road opened.
Project coordinators say there were unavoidable delays.

"I'm all for progress, but this is too close," Sanders said while standing on her backyard deck. "I get woken up from the sound of 18-wheelers."

Hello Friends, These toll roads 130 & 45 are just the beginning. The TTC/I-69 has gotten my attention. I'm all for better Roads and Highways, but not the way TXDOT has planned and not uneccessary pork barreling roads. I-69/TTC will order the sale of over 500,000 acres from Texans for the benefit of the private sector. Additionally, TXDOT want's to run toll roads all over Texas and let the Spanish Co., Cintra/Zachary, reap the benefits instead of Texas Co.s. In addition, it is part of the Nafta superhighway from Mexico to Canada. This is obviuse that it's business interests trying to get an edge at the people's expense. There was a rally at the Capitol on 4/5/08. Quite a successful rally. Check out www.texasturf.org for more info or just google Trans Texas corridor. My opinion is that it's a Gross abuse of eminent domain profiting private interests and an illegal conflict of interest has merged with our TX Gov. in order to let these developers sieze land. If it hasn't touched your life now, it will in the future. Wether it's your children or grandchildren. Eminant Domiain needs a supreme court make over, and the TX Govt. needs to work for the interest of the people, not private interest. How about we have a statewide vote on the facts of the issue and wether TX citizens support it? Please write to your Govt. representatives in regards to this.
